ROTARY'S AREAS OF FOCUS

We channel our commitment to service at home and abroad through the above Seven Areas of Focus, which are the foundation of club activity.

Club Service

Club Service focuses on making clubs strong. A thriving club is anchored by strong relationships and an active membership development plan.

Vocational Service

Vocational Service calls on every Rotarian to work with integrity and contribute their expertise to the problems and needs of society.

Community Service

Community Service encourages every Rotarian to find ways to improve the quality of life for people in their communities and to serve the public interest.

International Service

International Service exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding. We support this service avenue by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more.

Youth Service

Youth Service recognizes the importance of empowering youth and young professionals through leadership development programs such as RotaractInteractRotary Youth Leadership Awards, and Rotary Youth Exchange.

CLUB COMMITTEES

Club committees coordinate their efforts in order to achieve the club’s annual and long-range goals. The President-Elect, President, and immediate Past President work together to support continuity of leadership and succession planning.

Whenever it’s feasible, committee members should remain on a committee for three years to ensure consistency. The President-Elect is responsible for appointing committee members to fill vacancies, appointing committee chairs, and conducting planning meetings before the start of the year in office. It is recommended that any committee chair have experience as a member of the committee. The Rotary International Board recommends each club have the following committees:
